Loonette from The Big Comfy Couch is coming to Charlottetown!

Meet Alyson Court, the iconic performer whose career spans generations — from Jubilee in X-Men: The Animated Series to Claire Redfield in Resident Evil. With a career that spans decades across television, animation, and video games, Alyson Court has become a fan favourite in multiple fandoms.

CHERYL WAGNER

Award-winning puppeteer, writer, and producer Cheryl Wagner is joining us as a Featured Guest at the Atlantic Entertainment Expo! She is the creator and producer of the beloved series The Big Comfy Couch, which ran for more than 100 episodes and earned Gemini Awards and a regional Emmy for children’s programming.

Earlier in her career, Cheryl performed on the Jim Henson series Fraggle Rock, where she voiced the character Ma Gorg, and also appeared in Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird.

BRENDA HICKEY, TROY LITTLE, AND SANDY CARRUTHERS

Brenda Hickey, Troy Little, and Sandy Carruthers headline our “Comics by Any Means Necessary” panel on Saturday, March 28 at the Atlantic Entertainment Expo. Between them, these three creators have decades of experience in the industry, each having mastered their craft. This discussion will explore the many different avenues for creating comics, breaking into the industry, and engaging with the medium.

SIEGE ON CHARLOTTETOWN

We’re excited to introduce Siege on Charlottetown, a BattleTech CCG event coming to the Atlantic Entertainment Expo. Learn to play on Saturday and a $25 fee tournament on Sunday. MARITIME SWORD SCHOOL

The Maritime Sword School is back at the Atlantic Entertainment Expo

They’ll be at the show all weekend, so be sure to stop by their table to see the weapons and gear they use in historical swordsmanship. Then on Sunday afternoon, join them for a live demonstration and see these techniques in action.

EXOR GAMES

We’re thrilled to welcome back our partners Exor Games to the Atlantic Entertainment Expo! They’ll be bringing Warhammer, Riftbound, Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, Magic: The Gathering, miniature painting sessions, demos, drafts, and plenty of opportunities to jump in and play. They’ll also be buying and selling trading cards all weekend, along with a wide range of hobby products for you to browse. Whether you’re building, battling, trading, or learning something new, Exor Games has you covered.

STAR WARS DISPLAY

May the Force be with you at the Atlantic Entertainment Expo. We’ll have a Star Wars display on site, celebrating a galaxy far, far away with iconic characters, props, and visuals for fans of all ages.

POKÉMON 30TH ANNIVERSARY

Expect Pokémon games to play, trading cards to buy and trade, TCG demos and drafts, and a curated display of Pokémon memorabilia spanning three decades, including items from Japan and some of the very latest releases, like the new Pokémon LEGO. Did you know that last year, we had over 200 people in costume per day in Charlottetown?

Our special guests have stories to tell, so let’s chat with them. We host one on one and small group interviews with all our guests and take questions from the audience. A must see at the expo.

PANELS

We have panels on various topics of interest. You’ll have an opportunity to learn and ask questions. You can participate in debate and meaningful topics from across the industry.

WORKSHOPS

The expo houses lots of hands on activities and workshops. Learn new things and experience new opportunities. We’ve partnered with relevant local companies to offer these.

QUESTS

Trialed for kids in 2022, we’re bringing the fun of interactive quests to AEX. Take on our challenges in exchange for special rewards. We won’t say more. Just wait and see what awaits you!

BOARDGAMES

Whether you play on a table or on the floor, we have lots of classic games to play. We also have lots of indie titles for you to try for the first time through our various partners. Now roll a 6!

ACOUSTIC

We have an acoustic stage which allows attendees to book a slot and perform to the attendees as they pass between halls. It’s a great way to experience local talent. Apply via the get involved page.

COSPLAY

With over 4,000 attendees*, you’ll be amazed by an array of cosplays. While you may not recognize them all, it’s easy to get swept away as your favourite characters walk on by.

Looking to add to your merch? We have a selection of regional dealers who bring a wealth of goodies to the show. Perhaps you are looking for trading cards, figurines or branded clothes.

We have a wide range of consoles for you to play. From the latest and greatest to the classics from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. We offer a range of titles each day and interactive sessions for all ages. It’s a great way to experience gaming.

Minors aged 14 and older are welcome to attend AEX independently but cannot take responsibility for other minors. Maximum of Two Free Children: Each paying adult can bring up to two children (13 and under) for free. No Unaccompanied Children Under 14: Children 13 and under are not permitted to attend AEX on their own. For example, a 14-year-old sibling may attend the event independently with a ticket but cannot bring a younger sibling as their responsibility. How do I apply the cosplay discount?

On the Eventbrite portal, you’ll find an option to apply a discount. Be sure to click it before finalizing your purchase and enter the appropriate discount code. This will give you a 10% savings! Please note that if the discount doesn’t apply to you, you may be denied access. Discounts are valid only for tickets purchased in advance.

Discount Codes:

COSPLAY – Save 10% as a cosplayer attending the show.
STUDENT – If you’re currently enrolled in full-time or part-time education, you can save 10%.
FIRST – 10% off for all first responders, including police officers, firefighters, military personnel, paramedics, medical evacuation pilots, dispatchers, nurses, doctors, EMTs, and emergency managers. This discount is available to both volunteer and professional first responders who have dedicated their lives to public service.

I want to bring my kids, what next?

At AEX, we welcome young fans! Children 13 and under can attend AEX for free when accompanied by a paying adult. To ensure a fun and safe experience for everyone, please note the following:

Free Admission for Children:
- Children 13 and under can attend for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
- Each paying adult may bring up to two children at no additional cost.
Supervision Requirements:
- To take responsibility for a child, the accompanying individual must be at least 18 years old.
- Minors aged 14 and older can attend AEX independently but cannot take responsibility for other minors.
No Unaccompanied Children Under 14:
- Children 13 and under are not permitted to attend AEX on their own.
Example Scenario:
- A 14-year-old sibling may attend the event independently but cannot bring a younger sibling as their responsibility.

I want to apply for a table, is there a charge?

No. However, each individual working at your table requires a pass. Please consult the display information on our website. If you have any questions, just reach out and we’ll be happy to help!

I have a disability, will I require assistance?

AEX is on two floors, however the venue is equipped with an elevator. If you have specific concerns you wish to discuss with us, reach out and we’ll try to assist you! If you require a carer to attend the event, please submit credentials to help@atlanticexpo.ca

Are tickets transferable or refundable?

Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred free of charge. Just log in to Eventbrite and update the personal information on the ticket. Tickets are electronically scanned on arrival.

I want to change from one day to another, can I do that?

Unfortunately we cannot move between days and you cannot use a ticket for one day on another. You must have the correct tickets for the day you attend.
